In 1980 Greg Holtan was one of the founding members of what is today the largest Kiwanis Aktion Club in the world. At that time there were 33 members; today there are nearly 150. The mission of Kiwanis Aktion Clubs is to provide opportunities for physically or mentally challenged adults to interact with the public and to socialize. Greg says that its most important goal is “to have fun”.
Greg has been the Chairman of the Aktion Club for nearly twenty years and described some of their annual activities as follows:
• Annual participation in “Special Olympics” • Halloween Dance • The Snowflake Ball • Bowling Outings

Congratulations to Al Sammartino being named Kiwanis Lt. Governor for this region
Sammartino’s goal for the next two years is to unite clubs to work together to build K Kids and Builders Clubs programs for all counties. Club meetings with presidents have been scheduled either online and or in person. Every two months we will host workshops with local clubs to see how we can better serve the children in our counties. Meeting new directors and inter clubs will be a priority . I am very excited about this new position with Kiwanians and looking forward to serving the children in our communities.
